London Fire Brigade is the busiest fire and rescue service in the country and one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. LFB was established in 1866 but the history of fire fighting dates to the Great Fire of London which led to insurance companies employing staff to extinguish fires. LFB has a distinguished history and is at the forefront of developing and working with design and technology to improve fire safety for our communities.
