Designers statement -
"The "Urban Forager" project has been a daily obsession for almost 3 years - Foraging east London for metal NOZ cannisters - London Design Festival will host an installation piece made from with my extensive collection of thousands. This will be presenterd with a film documentary by Katy Davies around the issues - interviewing teenagers to metal rcyclers to jewellers and police. On exhibit will also be visual commentary by 5 photographers including Polly Penrose , Nicolas Favoran and Marianne Wie with sustainable product solutions by 5 designers."
Michelle Lowe-Holder is an artist & maker using the body as a canvas to create unique and artisanal pieces . Utilising both modern and heritage techniques with mixed materials and a sustainable approach - each collection evolves from each other , led by a concept refined and developed thru the craft.
MLH work has been featured in press internationally including Vogue Italia, Vogue UK, Vogue India . Vogue Japan , Financial Times, Dazed and i-D magazine.
The V&A is currently exhibiting several pieces in the "Fashioned by Nature' exhibition and is featured in the museum book - The V&A shop is also currently selling a MLH specially commissioned jewellry collection inspired by sustainability and nature.
