Distributed Design Challenge

Design and the designer’s role is evolving and adapting to a new digitized world. Distributed Design is a new approach to manufacturing in the city which challenges how goods are produced and how customers relate to their products.

The Distributed Design Challenge 2018 celebrates and supports the rise of distributed design: recognizing the innovative and disruptive potentials as well as its societal and environmental impact.

The Distributed Design Market Platform is a Creative Europe project that aims to foster the development and recognition of emerging European Maker and Design culture by supporting makers, their mobility and circulation of their work, providing them with international opportunities and highlighting the most outstanding talent.

It is part of the wider Fab City initiative, and connects London to European partners such as the Dansk Design Centre, Fab Lab Berlin, P2P Lab, Parkhuis de Zwijger, Politecno Milano and IAAC.

We are looking to connect with designers and makers who are interested in creating products that can be shared on this platform, and this competition is the first phase in a 4 year project.

Co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union
