Brixton Design Trail

In addition to the Design Districts, London Design Festival introduced Design Routes in 2017 to recognise smaller clusters of design activity in London. As a Route, participating partners are located within walking distance of one another. Together, the partners greatly expand the range of activities and events which take place within the Festival as a whole, ensuring that the route represents all areas of London and its creative and design communities.

Brixton Design Trail

Brixton Design Route inspires us to think creatively about local challenges with global relevance with the theme 'We belong' - celebrating togetherness in a exploration of what it means to live in one of Europe's most diverse cities.

Visitors to Brixton can expect to find one of London's most distinctive destinations for all that is new in food, drink, shopping and nightlife, alive with an extensive programme of public art, creative showcases, workshops and talks.

We celebrate the design legacy of much loved colleague, artist, designer and activist, Jon Daniel.

We debate and share with Society x SW9 - a joyful, challenging and mind-expanding approach to building a creative community.

We champion Sustainable Brixton in a temporary pavilion of everyday materials.

We collectively craft Town Hall Textiles with hand embroidery, natural dying and screen-printing.

We reflect the resilience of integrated communities with bold, imaginative and playful responses to belonging across the town centre.

Over the coming weeks they will be confirming details of their creative marketplace and key cultural and creative commentators who will be sharing thoughts on belonging.
