Bankside Design District

Bankside Design District is a celebration of the area’s thriving creative industries with a programme of installations, open studios and interactive workshops.

The Bankside Design District has developed a strong theme of typography for London Design Festival and 2018 won’t disappoint font fans and type geeks. Better Letters return with their pop-up sign painting schools in Borough Market with US legend Mike Meyer. Sarah Hyndman of Type Tasting will present an interactive history of type through the medium of wine and gin. Transforming two pedestrian crossings in Bankside, the district will also unveil a brand new commission of ‘Colourful Crossing’ installations from British artist/designer, Morag Myerscough. Leading design show, designjunction will be coming to Oxo Tower Wharf, showcasing a curated exhibition of word-class contemporary interior design.

Bankside

The Bankside Design District is coordinated by Better Bankside, a partnership of over 650 businesses in Bankside, London SE1. Better Bankside, a Business Improvement District, exists to make Bankside a better place to live, work and visit. A Business Improvement District (BID) is an independent, business-owned and led company, which seeks to improve a given location for commercial activity.
