Greenspace is working with international workspace provider HB Reavis on a Net Zero Carbon commercial destination in London’s Shoreditch. A building with ambition.

Greenspace x HB Reavis discuss the making of Worship Square, an altogether better place to meet and work. The short film focuses on the future workspace, being together and work/life wellbeing. Net zero carbon in both construction and operation, Worship Square will also be all electric and single-use plastic free in operation, and is on track to be one of the most sustainable commercial buildings in London. Strategically located on a prominent corner at Worship Street and Clifton Street, the 140,000 sq ft development will be accessed via a new public square, in walking distance of Shoreditch High Street, Old Street and Liverpool Street stations. International workspace provider HB Reavis is approaching the project with a clear focus on sustainability, employee wellbeing and digital connectivity. The scheme is targeting the highest BREEAM and WELL accreditations and is designed to be NABERS 5*. It has already achieved SmartScore and WiredScore Platinum. Worship Square is one of three buildings globally to achieve SmartScore Platinum and is the first non-pioneer building to register for NABERS. The building was designed to be future focused. Its flexible design and smart technology will enable touchless journeys and allow hybrid safe working. The vibrant workspace will appeal to companies seeking to immerse themselves in the neighbourhood’s thriving tech sector and creative culture. The area is already home to Amazon’s London HQ, the Google for Startups Campus, Microsoft's accelerator space Reactor and Barclays’ innovation concept Rise. HB Reavis appointed Greenspace in September 2020, tasking the consultancy to develop Worship Square’s brand strategy, identity, website, hoarding and marketing collateral. Worship Square’s ambitious environmental and wellbeing targets inspired Greenspace to create a purpose-led brand that voices the building as a place that nurtures planet and people, with community and health at its heart. Greenspace began by gathering insights about the development project and its aims. An important aspect is the building’s location on a brand-new public Square. Worship Square will be a new destination, bringing character and definition to a place at the intersection of The City, Old Street and Shoreditch. Its position in a culturally vibrant part of town and the building’s emphasis on shared, communal spaces including terraces, a public Square and a social double-height reception, enhanced by biophilia, also had to find expression in the branding: this is a social building, where people will want to come to work, and stay to play. Greenspace also identified the challenge related to wellbeing and sustainability that needed to be convincingly communicated to avoid perceptions of greenwashing or of being generic. Lene Nielsen, Strategy Director of Greenspace says, “The building and HB Reavis’ focus on community, health and well-being along with flexibility, technology, service and its ambitious sustainability targets for Worship Square led us to the legacy-creating brand idea — Altogether Better.” At LDF, HB Reavis and GS discuss the legacy idea 'Altogether Better' for the Worship Sq scheme. The event focuses on coming back to work post pandemic, balancing WFH with working together and balancing work/life wellbeing.
