Anne kyyro quinn’s textiles are hand-cut, hand-sewn, and hand-finished, which is seemingly the only way possible to sculpt her designs into being. Her line of interior textiles is based on a set number of patterns—essentially, a formula for manipulating fabric into sculptural elements. From circles to targets, twists to loops, these designs transform fabric into a sensual, tactile experience. And while we normally associate textiles with touch, Anne Kyyrö Quinn’s creations intensify the somatic sensation exponentially. Fabrics undulate, burrow, and dance, inviting fingers to trace the patterns. These textiles reinvigorate organic shapes, translating Scandinavian simplicity into kinetic weavings.

Finnish-born designer anne kyyro quinn established her studio in 1999 and pioneered a new genre of interior textiles based on three-dimensional structures. She is known for her strikingly textured architectural textiles. Recognizing the acoustic properties of 100% wool felt, she developed a layered range engineered to dampen sound. The felt diffuses the sound and reduces the decibel count radically. Also her signature 3 dimensional surface technique plays an important role too. The intricately structured surface further enhances the sound absorbing properties of her designs. Loops and folds in the surface design create tiny cavities that wick sound waves into the layer of fabric underneath. Like an acoustic sponge, it soaks up ambient noise.

The collection of three dimensional wall covering patterns have targeted the sound requirements of public buildings such as hotels and libraries – Anne, whose studio is based in the OXO Tower, are used to fit out hotel boardrooms, home cinemas, courtrooms and office meeting rooms as well as commissions for private homes.

Anne kyyro quinn’s wall coverings are created using 100% sustainable wool felt making them an ecologically sound material choice. The designs have also been certified for their high sound absorption qualities and are flame retardant. All anne kyyro quinn’s wall coverings are hand-crafted in her London studio.
