Since 2003 the London Design Festival has been celebrating the city as the creative capital of the world and the gateway to the UK’s world-class creative community. As Sir Terence Conran says: "The Festival does for London what the Trianalle used to do for Milan, a highlight of the year, educating designers of all nations understand the pleasure of being in London with the huge number of things to see."

The London Design Festival takes place in venues right across the capital — but its reputation is global. We have visitors from over 50 countries.

This year there are 240 events over nine days across London. In 2009 over 300,000 people went to Festival Events, and a further million saw our installations in Trafalgar Square and on the South Bank. As London Mayor Boris Johnson says: "The London Design Festival is the most vivid possible proof that London is the hub of the creative industries in the world."
