Jack Trench, London-based designers and manufacturers of handcrafted bespoke kitchens and furniture, have opened a new permanent showroom in Clerkenwell following an extensive refurbishment and fit-out programme. On display are examples of their unique and innovative Corian® kitchen designs, including the JT Classic in Corian®, JT Mid–Century in Corian® as well a JT Veneered pantry area in walnut, copper and Richlite. The space also showcases a selection of bespoke furniture, including the Studioilse Brass Cabinet, JT Curved Dining Table and JT Cantilevered Sideboard.

The Clerkenwell showroom occupies the ground floor of a late-Victorian red brick building - formerly the North Central Weights and Measures Office - in the Rosebery Avenue Conservation Area. As part of the interior fit-out, Jack Trench has installed Flos Architectural Lighting, alongside a decorative palette by Farrow & Ball and concrete-resin flooring by Topcret. Products and suppliers featured include Miele built-in kitchen appliances as well as tap fitments by Vola, Gessi and a custom Quooker Fusion Round boiling water tap in a bespoke raw copper metal finish.

On display at the Jack Trench Clerkenwell Showroom for the duration of the London Design Festival will be a collection of beautiful ceramic ware by Emma Lacey. A newly-installed pantry area will showcase pieces from her 'Everyday' and 'Rainbow' tableware ranges. Emma's work is stocked by The Conran Shop and Liberty among others. For more information, please visit www.emmalacey.com

Emma Lacey designs and makes functional ceramic tableware in her studio in North London. Most work is hand thrown stoneware which is either manipulated while the clay is still soft or finished with combinations of satin and glossy glazes that enhance the tactile qualities of her ceramics. Emma’s training was originally in Crafts (University of Brighton) and she used the MA Design: Ceramics at Central Saint Martins to explore her work in a Design context where function and tactility were key. This research has informed the development of Emma’s work and ceramic design business which contributes specialist knowledge and craftsmanship to the development of ceramics which sit comfortably in commercial design contexts.

Jack Trench offers a collection of kitchen designs, which encapsulates the clean lines, tactile aesthetic and contemporary detailing of their handcrafted bespoke kitchens. In the JT Classic in Corian® and JT Shell in Corian® designs are two impeccably modern styles made from DuPont™ Corian®, one of world’s finest solid surface materials. The JT Mid–Century was inspired by classic Danish furniture design while the JT Richlite offers a dramatic palette of midnight blue and intense black that complements warm-toned timbers such as walnut, cherry and oak. An architect’s favourite, the JT Ply Original - and its design variant the JT Ply Original in Corian® - combine classic utilitarian appeal with the craftsmanship and precision finish that is synonymous with a Jack Trench bespoke kitchen. Each of these designs has evolved through a process of research and prototyping. With their considered proportions, resolved detailing and innovative use of materials combined with traditional joinery techniques, they can be applied to any kitchen project in a variety of timbers, materials, finishes and worktops.
