Bankside Design District

SEP

16-24

2017

Late night opening:
Wednesday

Bankside Design District excited and engaged audiences with a programme of events, activities, workshops and talks, as well as a very special international pop-up.

The Bankside Design District had a strong theme of typography in the 2017 Festival. Font fans and type geeks attended lettering workshops with US sign painting legend Mike Meyer. Visitors were also invited to participate in events hosted in store from Better Letters. There was a secret garden at citizenM, product launches and parties at designer-maker enclave Oxo Tower Wharf and a brand new commission in the series of ‘Colourful Crossings’ installations.

Putting south London design on the map, the district runs east to west along the Thames from Borough Market to Oxo Tower Wharf. The Bankside Design District continues to celebrate the creative diversity of this riverside destination, home to galleries, creative agencies, design studios and architect’s practices.
