Showcasing designs from winners and shortlisted students alongside specially commissioned pieces from established and emerging designers. Each reflects inspiration drawn from archival resources including those at the Fashion and Textile Museum, the Warner Textile Archive and Sanderson.

Originally aimed at 2nd year Surface Design undergraduates, CAMAC’s flagship Competition now also attracts intermediate level students from other disciplines including textiles and fine art at colleges across the UK and Europe, including Ireland and Denmark.

This Exhibition showcases shortlist and winning designs alongside specially commissioned pieces from established and emerging designers, including CAMAC Alumni and members of the CAMAC Design Group.

It also offers the chance for students to participate in a series of workshops, master classes and conferences with experts from all sectors of the design world on subjects ranging from researching, designing and making wallpaper, to how to best photograph and present a body of work for potential clients and the media.

Judged by leading exponents from the wallpaper industry and design history experts, a selection of winning students will see their papers printed by Anstey, Graham & Brown, Mr Perswall and The Warner Textile Archive.

At the private view on Thursday 12 September (6-8pm) invaluable work placements will also be awarded by Graham & Brown, Zoffany, Anstey and, for the first time, by Cole & Son and Sanderson.

Other venues where selected wallpapers will be hung during LDF include the Sanderson Hotel, Berners St, W1 and Morley Gallery, Westminster Road, SE1 where winning designs from the spin-off CAMAC Student Textile Design Challenge will be on show.

Celebrating the work of AWN Pugin, a travelling exhibition of designs from CAMAC's 4th Annual Student Wallpaper Design Competition, also part of the London Design Festival, will be held from 27 June - 28 September 2013 at Lotherton Hall, Leeds.

CAMAC is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) founded by Caroline McNamara -  an experienced event and exhibition organiser, graduate of The London College of Communication, University of Arts and Norwich University of the Arts, and Vice Chair of TEXERE, Textile Education and Research in Europe.

The team at CAMAC creates and delivers competitions, exhibitions, masterclasses and symposiums aimed at building links between colleges, their design students and professionals working in the creative industry. Designed to sit within the curriculum - or as special projects - and continually evolving in line with the needs of academic institutions across the UK and beyond, CAMAC’s work inspires individuality and experimentation, and provides invaluable opportunities for students to strengthen their personal and professional development.

Flagship event is the Annual Student Wallpaper Design Competition, now in its 6th Year. Originally aimed at 2nd year Surface Design undergraduates, it now attracts entrants from students studying textiles, fine art and ceramics from colleges across the UK and Europe, and for the first time in 2014 Australia.
