by Ted Todd Fine Wood Floors
As part of this year’s London Design Festival, visitors to the Ted Todd Design Centre in Margaret Street are being encouraged to consider the importance of taking time to be creative.
Using the stories behind antique and reclaimed floors as a starting point, whose journeys have often taken hundreds of years to come to fruition, the space has been curated around the question of whether it is possible to be creative in such a busy world.
To what extent does our technologically and deadline driven world affect the surroundings we design – and how do we counteract this in order to embrace a considered, thoughtful approach that
encourages new ideas and inspirational environments.
As well as daily talks by speakers from the worlds of architecture, design, management and media, visitors will also be able to explore the provenance of Woodworks by Ted Todd’s floors reclaimed from Britain’s Victorian Industrial buildings, and learn how an emphasis on sourcing new wood from sustainably managed forests is creating future heirlooms.
