PRIME CUTS - the exhibition for graduates of moving image has teamed up with ARTS THREAD to create a new competition to help launch the careers of seven designers at the Truman Brewery this July 19-23 2012.

We are hosting a new competition, starting January 16 2012. The Title is ‘The Games’, inspired by the Olympics that starts only a few days after the Prime Cuts show on July 27, with its hub at the Olympic Park at Stratford, also in East London.
We are contacting over 50 universities/colleges to invite them all to take part in the Prime Cuts/Arts Thread competition.

We are looking for some wicked, fresh and diverse ideas, based on our title.

What do I win?
The winning work, one from each of our listed specialisms below, will have their work hosted for free at the festival, as well as being promoted on Arts Thread’s site as well as on the Prime Cuts homepage. A display of work will also be created for other pop events and showcases that we will hold across the run up to the main Prime Cuts festival.

We are only giving away one prize for each category so please make it clear on your entry which specialism/background you have chosen.
We will invite our judging panel to select the students who have uploaded their work upon the Arts Thread website by cut off date April 23 2012.
The lucky 7 will be announced on May 21 2012.
Both Prime Cuts & The Arts Thread blog team will promote every student selected to the press and media well in advance of the show, as well as before, during and after the event.
