Cockpit makers Shan Valla and Siân Matthews will exhibit new objects that hint at the past but also edge into the future at the Neo Deco Pop-Up Shop.
As you may have read on the London Design Festival blog http://tiny.cc/sq5bp Cockpit Arts' makers are popping up all over the London Design Festival this September as part of the Cockpit Trail and beyond.
From the 18-26 September, a host of contemporary designers and artists including our own Shan Annabelle Valla and Siân Matthews, will be presenting objects in antique dealers Corfield Morris' Neo Deco Pop-Up Shop. In the pieces they are exhibiting Siân and Shan have drawn inspiration from historical forms re-interpreting and refreshing with a contemporary twist. www.corfieldmorris.com
Shan Annabelle Valla will be exhibiting her halved ceramic busts from her quirky 'Half Objects' series, which is a radical take on the historical marble bust, alongside delicate glasswork from her Bud vases and ceramic objects from her Lady Lace series. www.shanvalla.co.uk
Siân Matthews will be showing work from her beautiful Organic and Traditional series of silverwork with decoration inspired by floral and historical pattern and motifs. Each bowl, vase and champagne bucket is crafted individually by hand, to create a stunning one-off piece which is smooth to the touch. www.sianmatthews.com
