Cockpit's 25th Birthday Trail heads west to the Brompton Design District where you can see exquisite hand thrown porcelain tableware by Cockpit Arts Award winner Billy Lloyd.
For Wood & Woad at Few and Far Priscilla Carluccio has assembled an exquisite collection selected from small British companies. All of the featured designers make beautiful hand made products that last - out of quality materials and only in Britain.
Having graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 2006 Billy Lloyd worked for Lisa Hammond at Maze Hill Pottery for a year before going on to assist Julian Stair from 2007 until establishing his own studio in 2011. Billy designs and makes thrown porcelain tableware intended for use. He combines a clarity of design with the nuances of making by hand. The objects produced appear simple and pared down - stripped of any superfluous detail and left with what Billy feels is necessary to characterise each functional piece. Billy Lloyd is a participant in our ‘Commercialising Creative Content’ programme funded by the ERDF.
