26 Treasures revealed

The 26 Treasures project continues to grow in the most extraordinary way. This collaborative project - involving the writers' collective 26, the V&A and the London Design Festival - leads to new ideas and collaborations every day.

On www.26treasures.com increasing numbers of visitors are logging on to see daily postings of supplementary 62-word pieces, blog writing and ‘creation stories' - the stories behind the core group of 26 pieces written in response to 26 objects from the V&A's British Galleries.

The 26 Treasures will appear online and as an exhibition in the V&A from today till 26th September as part of the London Design Festival.

New developments include:

- A limited edition 32-page pamphlet was made available for the launch, bringing together the 26 Treasures in one beautifully designed form. The design is by Daniel Oparison. The pamphlet includes pieces by 26 writers including Andrew Motion and Maura Dooley.

- A film of the writers reading their works is being screened at the V&A's British Galleries throughout the festival. The film was made by Uche Olivia Ogbonnah (www.olivemediaproductions.com).

- A special Lates event has been arranged at the V&A for the evening of 24th September. Pairs of writers from the project will guide members of the public around the exhibition, explaining how they responded to the V&A's object and wrote their individual poems. Guides include poet Maura Dooley and the author of historical fiction Sara Sheridan. The event is free and runs from 6.30 till 9. Visitors can just turn up on the evening and join a tour.
