Urban Nature is a new interpretation of the popular idea of bringing nature to the city: a pastoral journey that will explore the interplay between bucolic and urban environments. This unique concept has been designed by international designer Francesca Avossa and has been conceived exclusively for Ligne Roset Westend as part of the London Design Festival and as a new concept in a Ligne Roset store.
The ground floor will be divided into three sections and each will embody a different environment: forest, meadow and cottage. The twist is that each section will have an urban interpretation applied to it.
‘Forest’ will encapsulate the feeling of calm and peacefulness in a forest and will include a one-off installation of the Bouroullecs’ Clouds design, supplied by Kvadrat, arranged like branches to create the forest canopy. Configurations of Confluences will be adapted by artist Richard Walker to evoke forest undergrowth – with an urban twist.
The ‘Meadow’ section will have a light, floral feel with warmer tones of green and yellow. Organically shaped products such as Pierre Paulin’s Anda and Pumpkin designs will be displayed as colourful flowers on an expansive carpet of grass. The ‘Cottage’ area will include a dining area and the cutting edge ‘Book & Look’ shelving unit.
The basement of the showroom will showcase the range of new designs for 2009 including the new Pierre Paulin designs: Anda, Ursuline, Archi and TV, as well as the other new outstanding designs from this year (such as Roman, Stump and Torn) and some classic Ligne Roset designs (Togo and Facett.)
