Pop-Up Shop

TMforF&M is a new furniture, product & lighting brand borne out of London based architecture studio Feix&Merlin Architects. We are launching a capsule collection, for the first time in a pop-up shop Seven Dials, Covent Garden. Wherever possible all our products are hand-made in the UK.

This year will be the first appearance of Feix&Merlin – the eponymous studio founded by Julia Feix and Tarek Merlin - at London Design Festival and is the official launch of the new TMforF&M brand. Alongside the brand launch, TMforF&M will be launching six new products that will light up the design world. As designers, Feix and Merlin have always been interested at what’s gone before just as much as what is to come; so the aesthetic of the brand seeks to echo tradition and craft whilst firmly looking forward; a search for a new tradition.

As designers, we have always been interested at what’s gone before just as much as what is to come; so the aesthetic of the brand seeks to echo tradition and craft whilst firmly looking forward; a search for a new tradition. As makers we look to support the UK design & craft industry so, wherever possible, all our products are made in the UK.

The products to be launched in September are:

'The Spindle Pendants’ – hand blown glass pendants available in three profiles and four finishes; The Dorchester (clear glass, ribbed finish); The Wentworth (smoky grey glass); The Charlotte (clear glass, diamond finish) and The Charlotte (clear glass). Hand-made in the UK by blown glass specialists based in Hertfordshire.

'The Spindle Stools’ – hand made solid marble stools inspired by traditional timber spindle profiles. Available in a range of sizes and finishes including super-cute super-micro versions made from recycled marble that would otherwise be waste material. The stools are made in Tuscany, Italy by a talented team of artisans who have been working with marble all their lives.

‘The One’ – a glass side table in two-way mirrored glass, with neon script inside with the message ‘LoveMe’. When the light is off it will appear as a mirrored box, when the light is on the text will appear and will be reflected inside. Hand-made in the UK by neon specialists based in Hackney, London.

‘The Sebastian’ table lamp – a 20 inch version of the ‘Sebastian’ (2013) statue, in collaboration with the artist Stuart Sandford. The project takes its cue from the male form in classical sculpture but reinvents the pose for the modern day. Working with top male model Sebastian Sauvé as the inspiration, we see the model caught in a pose taking his own picture, raising themes of narcissism and self-admiration as well as a comment on the icon and its place in contemporary culture. The piece will be 3D printed and incorporates a 3D signature of the artist. The light source is in the camera that Sebastian is holding. 3D printed and hand-finished in London.

‘Le Chateau Gateaux’ – a coffee table inspired by traditional ceiling cornices. Cornice profiles are stacked together to create an inverted pyramid form. The piece will be available in two sizes; a rectangular and a square version. Hand-made in the UK by a traditional cornice specialist in Sheffield.

‘The Concrete Panels’ – a wall panel system of concrete panels with a 3D effect evoking the look of traditional timber panels. Made in the UK by concrete specialists based in London.

The panels are available in white and grey concrete and come in a variety of different sizes and proportions so creating a kit of parts that can be put together in multiple configurations
