Thomas Feichtner Hands-On Design

Austrian Cultural Forum

The Gallery of the Austrian Cultural Forum London presents Thomas Feichtner´s design work.

The Gallery of the Austrian Cultural Forum London presents hands-on design, a review of Austrian designer Thomas Feichtner´s work and his first solo exhibition in the UK.

Thomas Feichtner is an Austrian designer who, after considerable successes in the field of industrial design, has recently begun to turn heads again with his unusual experimental approach to design. His new work in the area of furniture and object design is positioned midway between industry and handcrafts, mass production and one-of-a-kinds. His exhibition will provide a detailed presentation of his experimental working methods.

Many of Feichtner's products were awarded international design prizes and form a part of the foremost design collections in the world. Since October 2009, he has held a design chair at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel, Germany. In 2010 the MAK - Austrian Museum of Applied Arts edited a monograph about Feichtners work, which is published by Birkhäuser Verlag in Basel. Feichtner lives and works in Vienna.
