Sebastian Cox presents new pieces from Bayleaf, his signature collection of furniture made using British wood as part of South East Makers Club in Deptford during the London Design Festival 2017. Working with a varied palette of exceptional British hardwoods, Sebastian Cox captures an ancient design sentiment with Bayleaf. The growing collection features a glass-fronted armoire, dining table, upholstered daybed, tambour topped dressing table and now bedside tables, a desk and a coffee table.

IYA Studio
Carriage Ramp, Deptford Market Yard, London SE8 4BX
10am – 6pm Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th September / FREE

To celebrate their recent move to Deptford design studio IYA have invited friends of the studio to create a graphic based art print taking inspiration from the hidden characters and glyphs that are neatly tucked away into a font specimen sheet or a tool bar.
Each art work will be printed at A2 by IYA and two copies will be made. One for the designers to keep and one will be sold with proceeds going to benefit local charity Midi Music Company.

Original Only - an exhibition curated by IYA & Brad Yendle
Carriage Ramp, Deptford Market Yard, London SE8 4BX
10am – 6pm Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th September / FREE

In this combined exhibition IYA Studio and CharlieFourLegs bring together two unique collections. Colonials will be sharing space with 1950’s Eames originals.

London-based Brad Yendle of Charliefourlegs will showcase a selection of 100% original side chair and armchair fibreglass designs by Charles and Ray Eames from the 1950s, 60’s and 70’s. Charliefourlegs specialises in seating that was manufactured in that era by Herman Miller and their stock is imported from the USA. In this era of copies and chinese replicas, their chairs are all 100% original: Any restoration work necessary is carried out in a spirit that is as true to the factory manufactured original as humanly possible. All the seating will be available for purchase.

Joining the chairs will be IYA’s collection of Colonial figures. These are carved statues heralding from Africa and in particular the Ivory Coast. They became popular in the 1950's towards the end of colonial rule and, according to African art historian, Chritstian Steiner they were commissioned by colonial workers as souvenirs to take home. IYA’s fascination with them comes from seeing these brightly coloured, well dressed folk illustrate the confident and expressive nature of the artists and the sense of camaraderie they convey when standing proud together. They're very much part of the IYA studio and now, with the help of fellow colonial collector, Rich Rhodes, we’ve merged them together to share with you.
