The Sculpture House

See Studio is pleased to exhibit the work of James Capper, Alexander Chinneck, Luke Hart and David Murphy on the occasion of launching The Sculpture House. The Sculpture House is a new project that enables artists to extend their material, formal and general aesthetic concerns into furniture. Each item is made to order and only available in limited editions of ten, creating a contemporary platform that is simultaneously relevant within the art and design markets. Each year, a new compilation of artists will produce a collection of objects that treat furniture as subject matter and explore the disciplines of art and design in pursuit of ambitious results. This first exhibition will consist of a rolled-steel bathtub based on commercial vehicle digger-buckets (Capper); a Persian rug made from 220 pieces of wood (Chinneck); flexible rubber shelving systems (Hart) and luminous orange stools inspired by lifeguard buoys (Murphy).
