Romagna Creative District: Into the Pattern

The Romagna Creative District showcases the creative works of Italian artists and designers from Romagna, Italy.

INTO THE PATTERN is an exhibit of creative works made from patterns. It is the result of a call for ideas to all the members of the Romagna Creative District to get creative and get into the pattern. 10 patterns designed by Kalarav were the basis of this design competition. The patterns could be used as is or manipulated to create new forms and features. Numerous entries were received, from videos to furniture, from architectural works to fashion items. The winners were selected on the basis of creativity and originality. Interestingly, what links all these works is not only the patterns themselves, but a message of wellbeing, 'la vita bella' and sustainability.

Into the Pattern was launched by Romagna Creative District, a network encouraging local creative talent. Romagna is a region in the north east of Italy rich with artisan activity and cultural tradition, and famous also for its musical and culinary heritage. It is a region that is only recently starting to celebrate its talent and the world is starting to discover it. The works in this exhibit are the creations of designers from Romagna and surrounding regions – architects, stylists, video makers, artists, designers and creative enthusiasts who bring through their works an expression of who they are, with a sense of humour and a creative innovation that characterises Italy and the region of Romagna.

Romagna Creative District is a creative think tank of professionals, entrepreneurs, public and private businesses and educational institutions that have joined together to create a dynamic cluster for stimulating local creativity and boosting the economy.
