A right royal makeover with the Prints of London

London – a city made of pork scratchings and warm ale. Where city folk mingle with skinny jeaned hombres on fixed wheel beauties. Where ladies sip lattes and bounce mini them on bended knee. Where quiffs and toffs strut and traders sing their wares, two for a pand, two for a pand. A city without walls, but full of pride.

To celebrate all that is good and grand in this big smelting pot of a city, London artist Vic Lee will be showing, selling and mingling at the Craft Centrals Corner Shop on Clerkenwell Green EC1, during the London Design Festival.

Vic’s illustrations of London’s iconic streets are a snapshot of history, today, in all their glory. Showing the local cafes, eateries, and all sundry of business’ alongside the inevitable corporate brands. These are streets that still ooze a village type essence. Where everything is a doorstep away and locals and visitors flock and take in the ambience.

Streets such as Exmouth Market and Columbia Road in the East, Northcote Road and Lordship Lane in the South, Portobello and Lamb’s Conduit Street in the West and Church Street in the North. Vic seems to be able to capture not only a moment in time, where Londoners live today but also a fondness and pride within these bustling cultural communities.

With his prints selling all across London, the UK and globally, Vic’s reputation grows as does his Londonereas series.

He will be showing the complete series of prints creating almost a walk through of life and architecture, shops, pubs and culture in London. Vic will also launch for the first time, new prints of Islington and building specific to compliment the St Pauls Cathedral print – The Tate Modern .
