During LDF 2013, A Doll’s House exhibition will be on display at the new Domus West-One showroom. It will be the first opportunity to see a selection of the 20 finished houses designed by internationally recognised architects and designers including Zaha Hadid, David Adjaye and MAKE before they are auctioned at Bonham’s in November 2013. Conceived by developers Cathedral Group, the monies raised by the auction will be donated to KIDS - a wonderful charity that supports families with disabled children.
The project is inspired by the dolls’ house that Edwin Lutyens designed for The British Empire Exhibition at Wembley in 1922 – using a very traditional children’s toy to display the very best of modern British architecture, craftsmanship, art and interior design.
The online auction will be launched at an invitation only event at the Domus West-One showroom on Wednesday 18th September. The exhibition at the Domus show room is opened throughout the festival and is free to visit from Mon to Fri: 10am to 6pm and Sat: 10am to 5pm.
