mt Masking Tape, the original 'washi' tape from Japan launches its first ever installation in the UK to coincide with London Design Festival.

mt masking tape is the original ‘washi’ tape from Japan, founded in 2007 by industrial tape manufacturer Kamoi Kakoshi co., LTD. Based in the historic town of Kurashiki, mt masking tape is at the heart of ancient tradition and culture as well as state of the art technology.

mt 'washi' masking tape today is produced in the very same factory which was dedicated to producing industrial masking tape for buildings, cars and furniture. Once just an industrial product, masking tape can now be used for a multitude of purposes - cut & tear, layer up, write & stamp, stick & more...the possibilities are endless! You can decorate small objects and accessories to entire walls and pieces of furniture; the only limit is your imagination.

Award winning designer, Koji Iyama, brings his creations to London for the very first time. Koji thrives to create designs which are beautiful as well as functional, working closely with his clients and often helping them push their brief further in order to bring more value through design. He has worked with mt since 2008, creating exciting tape designs and inspiring art installations across the world.
mt have teamed up with Foyles transforming the Atrium and creating a show-stopping window display for shoppers and passers-by. Visit their flagship shop on Charing Cross Road to discover Koji’s latest installation which has been inspired by the book store itself, taking inspiration from piles upon piles of books. The latest range of mt masking tape will be available for purchase and two artist lead workshops will be held in September to inspire creativity.
