Molteni&C has always been synonymous with Italian design heritage, and this year sees the brand delve into the depths of Novecento design. This September, Molteni&C focuses its attention on maestro Gio Ponti, with a collection of beautiful, reissued pieces. The collection, which was originally designed for Ponti's house and small series production, will see its UK launch during the 2012 London Design Festival at the Molteni&C London Flagship store. After a lengthy research and selection period, analysis of Ponti’s prototypes and close cooperation with with his heirs, Molteni&C developed an exclusive agreement to manufacture the reissued collection, including furniture and interior products, designed by Gio Ponti between 1935 and 1957. This collection further bolster’s Molteni&C’s reputation for working with the most prestigious designers and producing the most elegant and beautiful furniture. The collection can also be seen in the Sackler Centre at the V&A and is contextualised with a talk on Ponti’s work, style and influence on modern design, taking place on Thursday 20th September at 10am in the Hochenhauser Auditorium. See the V&A website to book tickets and for more details.
