Mint Explores

Mint

Mint explores the unconventional in this years LDF...

Mint will explore the influence of fashion on design by showcasing works from The Martin Margiela MMM Collection and selected designs by Maurizio Galante & Tal Lancman for Cerruti Baleri.

This concept will be carried further through exploring jewelry in design & examining the "Adornment of the Body" with artworks that only present themselves as jewelry when worn. A wall installation will display the pieces as art rather than jewelry designs.

Mint will also explore intriguing works by New Designers who do not visually reveal the material used until the piece is touched or explored closely. Fish skin will look like linen, cellulose like concrete, ceramic as stone and textile as porcelain.

Also presented the recently launched new collection by Mexican company Pirwi, whose work is heavily influenced by native culture and natural materials & explores the effect of local craft on design. Also included will be new works by designers from as far afield as Peru & Taiwan.

Mint Explores will be lit by .PSLAB, lighting designers and manufacturers working worldwide from bases in Beirut, Bologna & Stuttgart who are renowned for their site-specific lighting designs and remarkable installations.
