Architect Adriana Natcheva of London-based architecture firm Groves Natcheva explores how the world of jewellery and geometric design intersect in the exhibition ‘A Form of Perfection’ at Electrum, South Molton Street. The show features jewellery from international designers who favour form over the purely decorative, and align angles with adornment.
Adriana's selected focuses include Czech product and industrial designer Eva Eisler’s jewellery and the work of Brazilian-based Maria Alves Delima. Artists featured in the main exhibition include: Kamilla Ruberg, Jo Hayes Ward, Andrew Lamb, David Goodwin, Elizabeth Bone, Sarah Herriot and Sarah Stafford.
The iconic geometric jewellery of Jean Després is a significant underpinning of the exhibition with Natcheva citing the Art Deco designer as capturing the aesthetic of the age of the machine and transforming it into objects of beauty. Collected by Andy Warhol, Després’ work is explored in ‘A Form of Perfection’ through reproductions of his drawings and images of his work.
Groves Natcheva is a fast-growing architecture practice run by Murray Groves and Adriana Natcheva. Their ‘Bullet House’ which is in the shape of a diamond and was exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer show will be on view at Electrum during ‘A Form of Perfection’.
Electrum jewellery gallery celebrated its 40th anniversary this year and has always been one of the very best places in Europe that sells and champions high quality jewellery both designed and made by the artist.
