In a reunion of design, craft and industry, FACTORY will bring together Benchmark and 1882 Ltd, with events co-hosted by The Future Laboratory. With new designs by Lindsey Adelman, Max Lamb and Kiki van Eijk among others, Benchmark & 1882 Ltd will share their love of making and their deep knowledge of process and material through hands-on demonstrations and interactive displays held at The Future Laboratory’s Elder Street home in historic Spitalfields, with food and drink served in the courtyard garden.

The Future Laboratory, is a world leader in inspiring and future-proofing organisations through a unique blend of trend forecasting, consumer insight, brand strategy and innovation.

On Wednesday 23rd at 10am, The Future Laboratory curate an engaging talk ‘Can Craft be Synthetic?’ A panel discussion on how craft will adapt in a future of depleted resources, and if the life sciences have the potential to take over design. This event will be hosted by The Future Laboratory, and joined by Riya Patel, Curator at The Aram Gallery and former Senior Editor of Icon magazine, Carole Collet, Professor in Design for Sustainable Futures at Central St Martins and Grant Gibson Editor of Crafts magazine.
