The Art of Movement

The Exhibition:

- a preview and product release of the Sanitov Cargo-cycle 1.0
- a presentation of the Bicycle GPS-tracker system artwork ”The Art Of Movement”
- a presentation of the global bicycle movement campaign ” Go Bicycle Before It’s To Late” ( 15 posters made in collaboration with an up coming European artist )

Sanitov is an innovative bicycle brand established by the Sanitov-Studio Think-tank.
It's been our vision to create a line of designs which can be functional as well as fashionable. At the same time, the line of designs aspire to show urban citizens around the world the artful way in which man's mobility may unfold without the destruction of our climate; the environmental revolution starts in the city!
In releasing the first Sanitov Cargo-cycle 1.0 we have made an artifact that beneath being overall durable, contribute to an inter communal way of re-experience and re-create our urban environment.

Movement is contribution
Human movement is the foundation of interaction and interaction is the foundation of creation. Some say that we should move less to help the environment. We say: move more! We do not want to hamper human freedom of movement. We want every human being to be able to move as freely as possible! Instead of reducing movement, we want to provoke new ways of urban living in which each human being will be able to individually contribute to sustainable urban development at the same time as participating in vaster communities of inter-related commuters.

Movement is art
When a field of colour meets the eye in the event of painting, it is the finely orchestrated vibrations of millions of surface colours that creates the sensation of colour to the eye. When we move about in the great urban cities of the world, we too are taking part in an orchestrated series of vibrations that count in its numbers millions. Movement is art, let the urban art work be seen!

Movement is philosophy
Figures do not move, they are not the originators of movement. Figures instead are epicentres of movement: the slowed down and contrapuntal orchestration of travelling energy. To move is thus to go from one state to another, from one figure to the next. Travelling is the emergent figure, the brush stroke which gathers it momentum not from the artists hand but from millions of fibbers traversing the surface.

The bee and the swarm
Movement is never just individual. Movement is individual AND communal. We all partake in the creation of something bigger than ourselves: the urban project.
The modus vivendi urbanus is at once the bee and the swarm, the fish and the school.
