The ninth London Design Festival had a programme of 312 projects and events staged by 242 partner organisations, making it the biggest yet.

There were 65 shows and events at Festival’s central hub at the V&A, while the six Design Districts (including Brompton Design District, Covent Garden Design District and Shoreditch Design Triangle) hosted 78 events.
1,220 companies and designers participated in the eight key Design Destinations – the major group shows that included 100% Design, Tent London, Origin, Tramshed, Decorex and designjunction .

The Festival attracted a dedicated – or direct – audience of over 350,000 people A wider audience of over 2m came into contact with the Festival due to the staging of events and installations in major public spaces .
Audiences at the V&A increased by a significant 60% during the Festival period Visitors from over 50 countries were recorded in 2011 .
During the Festival period alone, the Festival website had more than 210,000 visitors and 1.3m page views .
During the Festival an online community of 52,000 people followed our e-Bulletins, our Facebook page and our Twitter channel The Festival was a headline on the main BBC Ten O’Clock News; alongside features on BBC World and Chinese national TV, this gave us a broadcast audience in the hundreds of millions .
Projected media coverage value: £3.5m (figures available November 11) based on nearly 1,500 separate UK publications alone . Check out some of the press we had.
This was complemented by online coverage: over 600 websites covered the Festival in over 800 separate articlesIn addition to promotional and cultural outcomes, the Festival generated an estimated £5.72m in sales for the sector and related industries.
