The official start of the London Design Festival may not be until this Saturday 17 September, but there are already loads of events, exhibitions and installations to see across the city. At the first full day of the Inside Playful Minds exhibition at The Arts Gallery we were lucky enough to get a guided tour from Artist and Designer, Damon Millar. Damon, whose background is in both Art and designing “bits of racing cars for formula one teams”, explains the motivation behind the exhibition. “A lot of technology is selfish,” he says. “Although mobile phones, for example, bring people virtually... Small error: Barney died 27 years ago this November, maybe not too late to correct.

London Design Festival says:

Small error; now says "The graphic designer Barney Bubbles committed suicide 17 years ago 27 years ago" Interesting post though. I was researching a hair salon design article I was writing when I  stumbled here. I think it's sad that such a talented designer committed suicide. Thanks for the link, I'm off to explore more about Bubbles' work although unfortunately I'm unlikey to find myself in London to be able to see it, at least in the near future.

I love the textile field, especially after walking and standing 4 hours in the V&A. I'd love to see it stay, and possibly with a few more vibrant colours added to the palette. Mian

I went to John Pawson's exhibition at Design museum last year.
His sophisticated works were very impressive and inspiring.
I am looking forward to seeing this installation very much.

I like it very much!
It is much easier to find an exact place and information.
I will surely use this calendar for LDF this year!

It collaborated very well with installantion of Ron Arad called curtain call at Roundhouse.

I love this calendar - it's really comprehensive and completely relevant. It's the first place I go when looking for something to do at the weekend. Thanks LDF!
