Harry Thaler originally designed this chair, pressed from a single sheet of aluminium, as part of his graduate degree show at the Royal College of Art. The Pressed Chair can easily be bent into shape and is light enough to be picked up with a couple of fingers. The pattern is cut from a sheet of aluminium such a way that the offcut can be turned into an accompanying stool. The chair was unveiled at Tent London as part of Tent Selects at the London Design Festival 2010; now showing at IMM Cologne, it's won equal first at the D3 Design competition, sharing the prize with Swedish design studio... I went to John Pawson's exhibition at Design museum last year.
His sophisticated works were very impressive and inspiring.
