Are the design graduates of 2010 going to need a big hand?

This giant cardboard hand is part of the installation Hands On being created by Studio XAG as part of the London Design Festival. Hands On reopens the newly refurbished Arts Gallery at the University of the Arts, for what's described as a whimsically out-of-scale "design afficionado's tea party". Studio XAG are Xavier Sheriff and Gemma Ruse, who graduated from St Martin's a few years back and who have been creating often surreal retail spaces for the likes of Diesel, Bertie, Topshop, Oasis, Odille and Whistles. Cardboard city

Campaign, who are taking part in this year's London Design Festival, created this beautiful pop-up cardboard Foldaway Bookshop (above) for the London Festival of Architecture. The nice thing about cardboard is that it's the ultimate recyclable. How far can you stretch that thought, though? Take a look at this carboard furniture that was exhibited Melbourne's recent State of Design Festival. John Pawson: Focused Perspectives at St Paul's

I went to John Pawson's exhibition at Design museum last year.
His sophisticated works were very impressive and inspiring.
I am looking forward to seeing this installation very much.
