Designer Paul Cocksedge has created the interactive installation Kiss, which invites two people to activate a lighting sequence on Covent Garden's 50ft Christmas Tree by kissing under the mistletoe. The moment is marked by 50,000 red and white LEDs and 100 strobe lights which illuminate the Piazza. The launch night on Nov 11 features a performance by Pineapple Dance Studios and a kiss auction with a celebrity (from 6.30pm, auction 7pm).  It's not the first time Cocksedge has explored the idea of human-made circuitry. Visualisation for Drop by Paul Cocksedge
The extremely talented Paul Cocksedge is creating this year's Size + Matter commission, the magical Drop for the London Design Festival, a outsize coin 'which has fallen to Earth from a giant's palm'. He's also working on an installation A Gust of Wind for the Festival's V&A programme. The Festival recently spoke to him about both pieces – and about his methods. For one day only, Paul Cocksedge is creating a unique piece of work for the London Design Festival as part of the V&A's Friday Late programme. A Gust of Wind will consist of 'three hundred curvaceous pieces of Corian® ', formed to represent a stack of pages that have been blown into the air. Each piece, engraved and handmade by Cocksedge, will be given away on 24 September, from 18.00 to 22.00. More soon. Cocksedge, one of London's most consistently innovative designers, is also currently working on Drop, a Size + Matter installation for the London Design Festival. More here   More

I love the textile field, especially after walking and standing 4 hours in the V&A. I'd love to see it stay, and possibly with a few more vibrant colours added to the palette. Mian

sam:

I went to John Pawson's exhibition at Design museum last year.
His sophisticated works were very impressive and inspiring.
I am looking forward to seeing this installation very much.

I like it very much!
It is much easier to find an exact place and information.
I will surely use this calendar for LDF this year!

It collaborated very well with installantion of Ron Arad called curtain call at Roundhouse.

I love this calendar - it's really comprehensive and completely relevant. It's the first place I go when looking for something to do at the weekend. Thanks LDF!
